This program is offered by invite only to American Heritage students to avoid summer learning loss and become better prepared for the upcoming school year. This research-based remediation program taught by certified specialists will provide intensive intervention through a multi-sensory approach backed by the Science of Reading. Students will establish skills and knowledge to become strong skilled readers. During this time, students are taught content and complete activities that directly teach and provide mastery-oriented practice of the critical skills needed to become a proficient reader. This is an in person class only.

Christina Macey currently teaches 3rd grade at American Heritage School. With a Master's in Exceptional Student Education, and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Christina has been in the field of education for 10 years.
A class may be canceled if fewer than 6 students enroll, and a specific teacher is not guaranteed. It is the parents’ responsibility to check with their child's school when seeking credit for a course. For online courses, the students’ cameras MUST be turned on at all times, and attendance is mandatory. To protect the privacy rights of all, there is absolutely no videotaping or recording by students during the course. Students must be age appropriate for the course, and all students must adhere to proper online etiquette. For online courses, young children must be supervised by a parent at all times.
