The Beat goes On (1st - 2nd) - Broward Campus Only

Rhythm, music, and dance are exciting ways for children of all ages to express themselves. This program is designed especially for Campers going into 1st and 2nd grade. Campers will start to identify the rhythm, sequencing of sounds, move to the beats of music, and sing some of their favorite songs! They will learn to read and write basic musical notes, learn about different songs and instruments used throughout the world and start to develop a musical vocabulary. Each camper enrolled in this program will receive their very own box filled with different types of instruments to make music with. They will also receive a musical notebook and a book of musical terms. These campers will create, perform, and beat to the exciting sounds of music.

Cecilia Case is the Lower School/Junior High dance instructor at American Heritage School. She has been part of the Fine Arts family for the last 8 years where she has choreographed numerous musicals, dance concerts and currently is the director of AHS Dance Ensembles and Patriot Dancers. Homegrown here is South Florida, she began dancing at 2.5 and has never stopped. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Public Communication and minors in Dance, Dance Education and Sociology from Florida Atlantic University. She has trained with numerous master teachers and is currently a member of Dance Educators of America, National Dance Education Organization and Dance Masters of America. In recent years, her students have been on So You Think You Can Dance, attended prestigious college programs and worked professionally in the dance world. Mrs. Case looks forward to having you join her this summer!

Camper groupings vary by program. Day Camp programs will be grouped by age/grade/gender, Specialty Programs are grouped together by age, interest, and/ or skill level. Programs are not guaranteed and require a minimum enrollment. Campers are supervised at all times by our energetic and fully-trained staff. Our counselors are carefully selected based on experience, character, and leadership. Every staff member is background checked, as we continue to maintain the highest level of safety and security on campus. At American Heritage Day Camp we do our very best to make sure our staff is placed with the appropriate age group to ensure a successful and fun summer.
