Public speaking is the #1 fear among Americans, yet it is the #1 quality sought after by employers. This fun and interactive public speaking course is guaranteed to help students conquer that fear, improve your child’s approach to any presentation, strengthen organization, and boost confidence while speaking.
This 3-week semester course is offered for first time credit, for credit grade replacement, or for non-credit enrichment in preparation for taking the course in the future. Please check with your school regarding credit from outside institutions.
Ryan Levesque is the Director of Speech and Debate at American Heritage School. He has been teaching and coaching speech, debate, and public speaking for 12 years. He is originally from the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, where he went to school, competed on his high school and college speech and debate teams, and taught for 8 years. Ryan’s mission as an educator is to nurture and challenge each student with whom he comes in contact. He believes every student has the capacity to be exceptional, and he knows the skills learned in speech and debate have the power to transform. He has seen it and lived it. Helping young people find their voice and confidence in speech and debate is his calling, and he feels blessed to work with some of the most wonderful students in the world!
A class may be canceled if fewer than 6 students enroll. A specific teacher is not guaranteed. To protect the privacy rights of all, there is absolutely no videotaping or recording. Students must be age appropriate for the course. Young children must be supervised by a parent at all times. It is the parent’s responsibility to check with their child’s school when seeking credit for a course.
