Junior Explorers is offered to campers entering 1st through 2nd Grade as an introduction to exploring the unknowns of the world. They will explore the mysteries of the deep blue oceans, the stories of the Seven Seas, prehistoric dinosaurs, and the valleys and the peaks of the highest mountains. They will learn the Asian art of origami, fill their minds with fun and interactive games, explore the wildlife in Africa and the jungles of the rainforest, and learn of the treasures left behind. This program is sure to give your child an adventure of a lifetime!
Not a stranger to academia, World History Honors and CP teacher, Mr. Jose Vazquez Rivera, has 17 years of teaching experience in subjects ranging from history to physical education. Mr. Vazquez Rivera was the facilitator of "Around the World" for AHS Summer Camp 2021. This year he will be the director of the new and exciting program "Junior Explorers". As a teacher and member of the US Coast Guard, Mr. Vazquez Rivera wants the Junior Explorers to get to know the world and learn life skills that will help them become good citizens.
Camper groupings vary by program. Day Camp programs will be grouped by age/grade/gender, Specialty Programs are grouped together by age, interest, and/ or skill level. Programs are not guaranteed and require a minimum enrollment. Campers are supervised at all times by our energetic and fully-trained staff. Our counselors are carefully selected based on experience, character, and leadership. Every staff member is background checked, as we continue to maintain the highest level of safety and security on campus. At American Heritage Day Camp we do our very best to make sure our staff is placed with the appropriate age group to ensure a successful and fun summer.
