2-D Animation is a hands on creative course that will introduce students to the art of animation. Students will experience and understand the fundamental principles of traditional animation through storyboards, backgrounds, and character development. Along with computer animation applications, students will use pencil and paper to explore this art form. This course is meant to guide students through the process of learning basic animation using Adobe's Animate Application. Students need a computer with Adobe's Animate.
Janine Knight is a graduate of Florida State University with a degree in Interior Design. Her experience with space planning, project management and AutoCAD led her to working for several corporations doing drafting, designing and managing construction projects. Mrs. Knight began teaching Architecture/Design at the college level in 2004 and continues to teach at Palm Beach State College. She currently teaches Architectural Drafting I-VI, Computer Graphics, and middle school computers at American Heritage School
Denise Roldan is a current multimedia and computer animation instructor at American Heritage School, and has worked as an industry professional in multimedia and animation. She is experienced in programs from the Adobe software suite like After Effects, Photoshop, and Animate.
A class may be canceled if fewer than 6 students enroll, and a specific teacher is not guaranteed. It is the parents’ responsibility to check with their child's school when seeking credit for a course. For online courses, the students’ cameras MUST be turned on at all times, and attendance is mandatory. To protect the privacy rights of all, there is absolutely no videotaping or recording by students during the course. Students must be age appropriate for the course, and all students must adhere to proper online etiquette. For online courses, young children must be supervised by a parent at all times.
