This course is designed for children entering grades Pre-K3 or Pre-K4 who need remediation to enhance development of language and cognitive and social skills. Focus is on repetition of sound and letter correspondence, recognition of letters, colors, shapes and numbers, strengthening fine motor skills through art projects, and developing listening skills through literature and games. Goals are to build sight vocabulary and beginning reading skills.
Andrea Croke has been part of the American Heritage family for four years. After working in the classroom as an assistant, she was inspired to become a teacher, so, in 2017, Ms. Croke completed a Master's in Education specializing in reading literacy. Having little ones of her own inspires Andrea to help early childhood students build their foundational skills to become life-long learners. Ms. Croke looks forward to inspiring, encouraging, and developing young learner's academic skills through fun and engaging activities this summer.
A class may be canceled if fewer than 6 students enroll, and a specific teacher is not guaranteed. It is the parents’ responsibility to check with their child's school when seeking credit for a course. For online courses, the students’ cameras MUST be turned on at all times, and attendance is mandatory. To protect the privacy rights of all, there is absolutely no videotaping or recording by students during the course. Students must be age appropriate for the course, and all students must adhere to proper online etiquette. For online courses, young children must be supervised by a parent at all times.
