Course Description+

The purpose of this Economics Honors advanced course is to give students a thorough understanding of the principles of economics that apply to our economic system as a whole. This course places an emphasis on the study of the basic economic concepts. It is the study of how individuals in our society seek to satisfy their needs and unlimited wants of goods and services by making choices which efficiently use society's scarce resources. Once a student understands these basic concepts, the study of Macroeconomics expands to include economic growth, inflation, employment, monetary and fiscal policies, supply and demand, and the measurement of economic performance with the emphasis on national income accounting practices.

Honors level classes can expect more rigorous requirements for assignments and assessments.

This 3-week semester course is offered for first time credit, for credit grade replacement, or for non-credit enrichment in preparation for taking the course in the future. Please check with your school regarding credit from outside institutions.
