English 2 Honors is an advanced course, which complements the Social Studies Department's World History class by exploring universal themes evident in pieces from world literature. Students are exposed to a selection of great classics, from the ancients to the twentieth century, concentrating on the most renowned works from every culture and genre. Students will study vocabulary, grammar, and composition to construct a variety of written and oral pieces. The required research paper and speech assignments provide practice in research methods and documentation, MLA compliance, self-expression, and organization skills.
Honors level classes can expect more rigorous requirements for assignments and assessments.
