Course Description+

3D Design & Modeling is a one-week course in which students will be exposed to 3D modeling software and learn the fundamentals in creating their own 3D computer models. This course is designed to cover the fundamentals, as well as more advanced applications, of Geometric Tolerancing. The student will learn the principles of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) as applied to engineering design, manufacturing, and quality control. The course includes geometric concepts and standards used to communicate engineering design intent and provide a basis for design and productions.

This is a non-credit 1-week course

Meet Massimo Salafia+

Mr. Salafia earned his engineering degree at the Engineering Trade School in Friedberg, Germany, and continued his studies as a mechanical engineer at Pfeiffer GmbH, Faust GmbH, and Gassella GmbH in Frankfurt, Germany. Mr. Salafia has numerous intellectual patents for mechanical devices. He is the Pre-Engineering Prototyping Lab Manager and teaches the Honors Engineering Design and Development class for seniors in American Heritage’s Pre-Engineering program where students may earn college engineering credit through Project Lead the Way. During the summer, Mr. Salafia is the Lead Director of the Robotics Summer Camp Program. He facilitates a youth based STEM camp along with his robotics team students. Mr. Salafia is the Lead Mentor of the award winning FIRST Robotics Competition Team 2383, the Ninjineers, and FIRST Tech Challenge Team 16391, Rising Ninjas.
