Course Description+

Piano is designed for students who are playing piano at the beginning/intermediate level. In addition to working on pieces that students will personally select, students will select a piece from a notable composer to perform in class at the end of each semester.

This 3-week semester course is offered for first time credit, for credit grade replacement, or for non-credit enrichment in preparation for taking the course in the future. Please check with your school regarding credit from outside institutions.

Session dates:
Session 2B: 6/22/20 - 7/10/20 (12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.) (EST) – 0.50 credit
Session 3B: 7/13/20 - 7/31/20 (12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.) (EST) – 0.50 credit

3 weeks course

For 0.50 credit or audit the student should only take one session in one specified 3-week time period

Meet Christina Trainor+

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Christina E. Trainor has explored her love for the arts from her early youth. Having studied classical piano under the Royal Academy of London curriculum, Christina began her early musical development at the age of seven. She furthered her performance training by attending New World School of the Arts for Musical Theatre and received her B.F.A. with a Minor in Mass Communication from the University of Central Florida. Continuing her education, Christina attended Florida Atlantic University’s graduate educational programs as well as piano performance pedagogy and currently holds a dual Florida State Teaching Certification in both Visual Art and Music K-12. She has developed a four-year curriculum for a Visual and Performing Arts Conservatory and has directed several musicals. Christina also founded Pro Arts Academy in 2008 providing excellence in visual and performance artistic development and training. As the Piano Director for American Heritage School, Christina teaches all grades and levels both group and privately. Mrs. Trainor is also a composer and children’s book author.

Meet Stratos Argyriou+

Stratos Argyriou has been teaching music for 7 years, focusing on piano, guitar, music history, and music appreciation. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Florida Atlantic University and has been teaching American Heritage students in 5th-12th grade for the past 5 years. Stratos is passionate about history and music history and enjoys sharing his enthusiasm for these areas of study with his students

Additional Course Information+

A class may be canceled if fewer than 6 students enroll. A specific teacher is not guaranteed. To protect the privacy rights of all, there is absolutely no videotaping or recording. Students must be age appropriate for the course. Young children must be supervised by a parent at all times. It is the parent’s responsibility to check with their child’s school when seeking credit for a course.
